This weekend, Comcast will recognize the 2014 recipients of its annual Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program during the Soul City Showcase. Since the scholarship program’s inception, there have been over 19,000 winners totaling more than $19 million in scholarship funds.
“I applaud the scholarship recipients and commend their hard work, dedication, and selflessness to their communities,” says Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann. “It is important we recognize their efforts, and the efforts of Comcast for highlighting these students’ achievements.”

The presentation is at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, June 14 at the Jackson Convention Complex 105 East Pascagoula Street, downtown Jackson.
Additionally, a local organization will be recognized and awarded for making Jackson a great place to live. “Each year, in honor of the late Mayor Chokwe Lumumba, we will award a community grant to a charity, non-profit organization or school who has gone above and beyond in making a difference in Jackson,” says Perkins.
